Yakah Chinah Afghanistan War Series eBook James Christ
This is part of a 12 book series detailing combat actions of American forces in the Korengal region of Kunar province in Afghanistan. All 12 are excellent depictions of combat actions with real soldiers names. Anyone who wants a historic perspective of the combat will not be disappointed. The author James Christ has included actual interviews with personnel involved. The only drawback in the series is the lack of chronological book numbers for all 12. There is a logical order of the combat actions, but without book numbers to go from first to last reading, one will probably skip ahead in readings, but it does not detract from the actual battles. Amazon should list all book numbers in their listings.Product details

Yakah Chinah Afghanistan War Series eBook James Christ Reviews
I have been reading every James Christ novel I can get on . I enjoy the matter-of-fact style and also the very deliberate focus on small units and specific engagements. I really cared about every soldier. I also like the fact the he doesn't second guess leaders, he lays out the facts he has access to, you can decide what you think. As you read the series it really does come together as a compelling report.
Further insight into the combat mission in the Korengal valley, Kunar provence, Afghanistan. This story truly helps to resolve the shear physical difficulty these troops encounter on a daily basis. Inspirational reading.
I read every book in this series. The author did an amazing job. My hope is that he will add more to this series.
Good but not great. All of James Christ's books are really good, This one was kinda short + I got tired of hearing about one particular soldiers(Sanchez) consistently, Recommended reading though for sure!
I would recommend all of James Christ's books on Afghanistan; they are all well written with very real, descriptive events our courageous troops endure in the war in Afghanistan. If you are curious about the war and what our troops have to deal with, his books will give you an excellent perspective.
The entire Afghanistan War Series by Christ is really excellent reading. It is good to hear from someone who isn't afraid to give the reader an account "from on the ground" as it were. Newspapers, magazines and the like present a nice "party line" of information to support political positioning rather than through the eyes of those who are fighting in behalf of us, the readers. Thanks Mr. Christ for your efforts and time. Having read the entire series as available, I would simply apply this to all of Christ's writings.
If you've had the pleasure of reading Sebastian Junger's "War", or seeing his and Tim Hetherington's "Restrepo" or "Korengal" which follow a company from the 173rd Airborne, this book is part of a series chronicling the unit that went into the Korengal Valley before them -- the first regular Army unit to push deep into the Korengal and set up "permanent" outposts in an attempt to win the locals to the side of the new Afghani government. This volume recounts the platoon's first foray into the southernmost village in that very hostile valley...
