Events for Audra Andrews and her family continue with a heated discussion of Jasmine's request. At Bluebell's urging, Audra capitalizes on the opportunity to achieve something she didn't even know she wanted.

This novel of 95,000 words is the 5th in the Selected series.

Recruited Selected Book 5 edition by Robin Roseau Literature Fiction eBooks

This book started off retelling many of the events of the two prior books, but from Audra's perspective. Audra's story then took off and you could see her character grow, and separate itself from being just Skye's kid sister. Yet this book really begins at the half way point with the introduction of Muriel, a unique character, one that seems to pose the biggest change to the aliens yet, as they can not cure her, but it pushes them to find way's to accommodate her and in return they get so much more than just a programer. Muriel's character allowed us to see the true depth of not only Audra's heart and her eternal gratitude to the aliens for curing her brittle bone disease, but Muriel also brought out a side of Catseye Jasmine Brighteyes that was not even seen when she fell in love with her wife Andie in the prior book. This is a nice transition edition to this series and I can't wait to read books 6 and 7.

Recruited Selected Book 5 edition by Robin Roseau Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Least favorite of the series. I actually skipped quite a bit and then read the end. I don't feel like I missed out.
Im a big fan of Robins work.
Out of The Selected series this one is the most loving and real. Not hardley any ugliness in this book. I prey that there will be more...

I also hope she will not wait so long to publish the next novel.
I'm one of the readers who follow this author and complain about the tearing down of the characters. Totally didn't happen in this book. This book was a wonderful advancement of the story, including lots of old and a few new characters. I have to admit I enjoyed this book more than anything else I've read from Robin.
Don't go into this book expecting the usual 'kidnap woman, go through hardship, mentally collapse, fall in love' like the first, second, and fourth. It starts with Skye's younger sister for the first half, then adds in a brand new character for the second half. All the story advancement was in the first half. The second was mostly character building with a huge chunk of sadness.
On a side note, can someone deck the ambassador? I really want her to get some comeuppance.
I've read all the books in the series so far and this has been the hardest to finish. I shed a few tears in the past mostly out of frustration and anger ( I know that this is a work of fiction). This time around I was a blubbering mess ( I 'm not one to cry very easily either ))and like everyone that reviewed the book so far, I was left heartbroken for Muriel. I applaud the author for creating something that is so well done, that you can help but you feel an emotional attachment to a fictional character. I want to reach out and hug Muriel and realize that I can't. Darn you Roseau!

I have read countless books and some I have enjoyed, but few have left me feeling like I do know. Experience it for yourself and enjoy! I truly hope that this isn't the last book in the series and Ms. Roseau will have another available soon.
I was eagerly awaiting the next in the series (and now the next) and while it made sad I still loved it. Oh Muriel, you made me cry. I'm still heartbroken for you today.
I love this book. This might actually be my favorite out of the series. My heart goes out for Muriel. I cannot recall the last time a book made me cry. Looking forward to the next in the series.
I've enjoyed all five books in this series. Ms Roseau writes extremely entertaining stories. For my tastes, she hasn't written anything less than a five star story yet!
